Are you looking forward to buy cannabis tincture? In this article we will discuss the benefits of cannabis tinctures.

Cannabis is known for its medical uses including pain relief, anxiety and depression etc. At Speed Greens, we bring you the detailed uses of cannabis tinctures.

Let’s get started.

Cannabis tinctures are alcohol-based cannabis extracts. Primarily, tinctures are concentrated alcohol-infused herbal extracts. Cannabis tinctures are also known as the “Green dragon” because of its deep green color. When you buy cannabis tincture, they commonly come in small bottle packages with dropper caps.

Cannabis tinctures have been one of the oldest methods of taking cannabis and were the most popular until the prohibition of its use in Canada and the United States. These countries have the most number of people using cannabis for medical purposes.

Top Five Benefits of Using Cannabis Tinctures

Fast onset

It takes around 15 minutes for cannabis to exert its effects through cannabis tinctures, especially when made sublingually. Yet, the results will still last for a long time. Compared to edibles, which take about an hour or two before the effects can be felt, cannabis tinctures are relatively faster. It will also benefit those who need cannabis for medicinal purposes as medicines will take effect quickly.

No smoking or vaporizing required

The smell that is given off after smoking or vaporizing cannabis catches attention and will initiate different responses from people depending on where you are. With cannabis tinctures, no marks or signs are left on the air to take cannabis discreetly.

Precise dose

You will be able to use cannabis at an appropriate and precise dose with tinctures since you can utilize droppers and take as low as 1 mL and gradually increase the amounts until you find the perfect treatment for you. You can enjoy optimum benefits yet still be not too high. Once you find the ideal dose for you, it will then be easy to replicate.

Perfect for beginners

Cannabis tincture is the simplest method to take cannabis. No fancy cannabis accessories and procedures are required; even droppers will do. People who are starting to explore cannabis or who are finding the perfect dose usually buy cannabis tinctures. It is also safe for children who have been prescribed cannabis for medications.

Low calories

Unlike cannabis-infused baked goods or other edibles, cannabis tinctures have distinctly lower calories. If you are watching your calorie intake, you will take cannabis tinctures guilt-free or eat more even after having cannabis tinctures. Calories can be as low as seven calories per mL, in the case of 190 proof alcohol.

How to Use Cannabis Tinctures

Sublingually

The sublingual method is the most preferred route by people who want cannabis to take effect rapidly and forcefully. Drop your desired dosage using a dropper or syringe under your tongue where the sublingual artery is located. Hold the cannabis tincture for 30 seconds before you swallow. This method makes cannabis flow directly to your bloodstream, which is also why it only takes as fast as 15 minutes before the effects of cannabis are felt. It is the most recommended and effective method for those taking cannabis as a medication.

Orally

Cannabis tinctures can also be taken orally by swallowing. However, it will take a longer time, about one to two hours, before it takes effect. Take the amount of cannabis tincture that you like and drink it. The digestive system will still process cannabis, so it will take longer before it reaches the bloodstream and has the effects felt.

Infused in food and beverages

Cannabis tincture can also be mixed with food and beverages similar to edibles. Take the amount you like and infuse it in your drinks, or mix it to your dough before baking goods. Similarly, as when you swallow cannabis tincture, it will be processed by the digestive system; thus, it will take about one to two hours before effects can be felt.

THC vs. CBD Tinctures

THC and CBD are the most prominent cannabinoids contained in cannabis, and when you buy cannabis tincture, the THC content and CBD content are some of the most critical factors that need to be considered.

Both cannabinoids, THC, and CBD are known to contain antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties. To add to that, CBD also has anti-seizure, antipsychotic, and anti-anxiety properties. But, only THC has the features to cause the “high” or euphoric feeling. For these reasons, CBD is more correlated with the medical benefits, while THC is associated with a great atmosphere. Because of THC’s properties that cause the high, THC is more regulated than CBD, and in some territories, it is even illegal.
However, THC and CBD are known to complement each other and bring optimized effects, known to be the entourage effect.

I’ve tried a tincture before and didn’t really like it. And I thought the bottle was sealed properly but I stored it for awhile and almost all of it evaporated due to a very small air leak.

Wasn’t very happy when $40 worth evaporated.

Think I’ll stick with edible and other ways to ingest.

Hello, thank you for your comment. The only tinctures that could possibly evaporate are alcohol tinctures which we do not currently carry. Most tinctures are suspended in oil which can not evaporate.

I’ve never tried tinctures before but i’ve heard great things! I personally prefer smoking flower over all methods of consumption but all of these drinks and mixtures are extremely interesting and i’m definitely going to give them a go.
