Juul Pods and Marijuana Oil
You’ve seen the memes. You’ve seen the YouTube videos, the tweets, and the jokes. In the world of e-cigs, nothing has taken off like the Juul.
Have you Juuled yet? (Yeah, it’s definitely its own verb now.) It’s no surprise if you have. Juul has taken over 70% of the e-cig market!
Similar to most vape pens, your mind may immediately wander to whether or not you can Juul with marijuana.
We’ll give you all of the information you need to know throughout this blog post.
What is a Juul?
Let’s start with an explanation of the Juul itself.
The Juul is an e-cigarette that hit the market back in 2015. At the time of its debut, it rocked the e-cig and vape world for a few reasons:
- It’s super discrete. It’s easy to mistake a Juul pod for a flash drive or a charging stick. The sleek design is more appealing to non-vapers who may be put off by the look of a box mod or older vapes. Juuls can fit in the palm of your hand!
- It uses nicotine salts. Nicotine salts send nicotine to the body faster, helping smokers put down their devices faster. They are a great way to take in nicotine but still transition out of traditional smoking.
- They use pods. There are many ways to refill a vape pen or an e-cigarette. When Juul first came onto the market, they made the “pod system” mainstream.
This pod system makes Juuls easy to use – and provides smokers, vapers, and THC enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy the substance of their choice.
How to Use Juul Pods
Buy a Juul pod in the flavor of your choice.
The Juul pod attaches to the end of the Juul and contains the liquid. It’s that easy! In a regular Juul pod, smokers can get up to 200 puffs. One Juul pod has the same amount of nicotine as a pack of cigarettes.
Juul lovers can buy Juul pods on the company’s website.
At the moment, they only have pods that contain nicotine. If you don’t want a product with nicotine in it, you can still “hack” Juul pods and add a substance of your choice or buy them here.
What can you put in a Juul pod?
- Vape juice
- CBD pods
- Marijuana oil
- THC/CBD distillate
- Wax
You can experiment with other substances as well, but try these more compatible substances first.
How to “Hack” Juul Pods
At this point, we should let you know that Juul pods weren’t made to be tinkered with.
Juul fanatics run a risk when they mess around with their pods and add other substances. Most of the suggestions we will provide are based on trial and error, but Juul does not provide its own instructions for how to “hack” Juul pods and add your own substances.
Tinker at your own risk.
Set up Your Empty Pod
When you buy a Juul kit, you’ll be able to get a variety of different pods with different flavors. If you want to only use THC and marijuana oils for your Juuls right off the bat, it’s best to buy the device on its own and buy empty pods from a separate retailer.
Juul owners who have empty pods lying around can still use these pods to add other substances, but they might have to do a little surgery first. Regular Juul pods will contain small pieces of cotton that contain nicotine. If you have finished a Juul pod and you don’t want to inhale any more nicotine, you’ll need to take them out.
No matter what type of pod you bought, you will have to remove the mouthpiece and the rubber gasket before you start adding your substance. You can do this easily with a flathead screwdriver.
Add Your Substance
The next few steps may require extra preparation depending on what you want to put in your Juul pod.
Vape juice: If you simply want to put a vape juice in your Juul pod, go for it. Fill it up slowly, put the mouthpiece and rubber gasket back on, and enjoy your Juul.
CBD pods: Don’t have time to play surgeon on your Juul pods? You can buy CBD pods online that are pre-filled with CBD oil and vape juice.
Marijuana Oil: The CBD pods that you buy online are simply a mixture of CBD oil and vape juice. If you have any sort of marijuana oil lying around at home, you can also use trial and error to find the best mixture for you. All you have to do is mix the oil and the juice of your choice until you have a combination that works for you.
Some people just stick a bit of marijuana oil in the microwave to melt it down to a liquid. We offer other methods below, but the microwave can definitely work. Once it’s ready to mix, you can start adding e-liquid or vape juice. If you are just starting out, go by a 2:3 oil to vape juice ratio. You can experiment with this number as you make more pods.
Once the mixture solidifies, it’s ready for your Juul pod!
THC/CBD distillate: “Distillate” is a more fancy term to describe a pure form of CBD or THC oil. However, when you buy a distillate, you may notice that the substance is more of a wax than a liquid. Here’s how you can prepare this product for your Juul pod:
Pop your THC distillate into a syringe. Since distillates are a sort of waxy substance, you may want to melt it down before you pop it into your Juul. Take a lighter to the syringe and move the lighter around so that the distillate starts to melt. Once the distillate is a liquid substance, add it to the Juul pod. Put the mouthpiece and gasket back on and you’re ready to go!
Of course, the distillate won’t stay liquid once you put your Juul down for a period of time. All you need to do is take two hits for the distillate to warm up and become a liquid again.
Wax: Similar to shatter, you will need to dilute your wax with e-juice. Put two milliliters of e-juice into a shot glass. Add a gram of wax to the shot glass. Have a pot with a small amount of water on low heat ready. Put the shot glass in the pot (the water shouldn’t spill into the shot glass!) and wait until the wax is liquid. Pop this right into your Juul pod and you are ready to go!
You can also experiment with other types of substances (shatter, hash oil, etc.) but start with these first. Let us know what types of substances you like to put in your Juul pod!
